According to standard terms and conditions tickets or activities are not refundable in most of the cases.

As long as the Machu Picchu monument remains open to the public, as is currently the case, no exceptions to the ticket rules can be made. It’s important to acknowledge that many visitors have faced challenges with some transportation methods to reach the Inca citadel. However, there are alternative transportation options available, such as minibus travel between Cusco and the Machu Picchu Hidroelectrica station, or the Inca Trail. It’s crucial to note that external factors, such as strikes, are independent of ticket sales and beyond our control.

However, as a commercial gesture, exceptional facilities will be offered by Peruways as described below:

Machu Picchu Tickets

Visitors from all countries with Machu Picchu Tickets for visits between the 25th of January 2024 and the 3rd of February 2024 will have the following options if they need to cancel or change their travel dates due to the strikes:

1. Change of visit date FREE of charge
2. Voucher equal to the amount paid per ticket with a deduction of 5 USD per ticket.  This voucher can be used later on any Peruways service.
3. Refund of the amount paid for each Machu Picchu Ticket with a deduction of the Peruways service charge per ticket.

Visitors who are travelling within the dates mentioned above and who want to cancel or modify their Machu Picchu Ticket must contact Peruways before the date of visit printed on their tickets.

Bus Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu 

Visitors from all countries with Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu Bus Tickets (Consettur tickets) for rides between the 25th of January 2024 and the 3rd of February 2024 will have the following options if they need to cancel or change their travel dates due the strikes:

1. Change of journey date FREE of charge
2. Voucher equal to the amount paid per journey ticket with a deduction of 3USD per journey ticket. This voucher can be used later on any Peruways service
3. Refund of the amount paid for each journey ticket with a deduction of 5USD per journey ticket

Passengers who are travelling within the dates mentioned above and who want to cancel or modify their Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu Bus Tickets must contact Peruways before the ride date printed on their tickets.

Bus Cusco to Ollantaytambo & Cusco to Machu Picchu Hidroelectrica

Passengers from all countries with transportation reservations for rides between the 25th of January 2024 and the 3rd of February 2024 will have the following options if they need to cancel or change their travel date due to the strikes:

1. Change of journey date FREE of charge
2. Voucher equal to the amount paid per journey ticket with a deduction of 20% per journey. This voucher can be used later on any Peruways service
3. Refund of the amount paid for each journey with a deduction of 50 % per journey.

Passengers who are travelling within the dates mentioned above and who want to cancel or modify their journey Cusco to Ollantaytambo & Cusco to Machu Picchu Hidroelectrica must contact Peruways  before the journey date displayed on the email confirmation.

Please note that the above options are exceptional, can only be chosen once and they cannot be changed once selected. No further change of date will be possible as per the standard term and conditions that will apply.

Tour Activities 

Visitors from all countries with tours activities between the 25th of January 2024 and the 3rd of February 2024 will have the following options if they need to cancel or change or change their travel date due to the strikes:

1. Change tour date FREE of charge
2. Voucher equal to the amount paid with a deduction of 10%. This voucher can be used later on any Peruways service
3. Refund of the amount paid for each tour activity with a deduction of 35% per tour activity

Visitors who are travelling within the dates mentioned above and who want to cancel or modify their tour activities must contact Peruways at least 7 working days before the tour activity date displayed on the email confirmation

Train tickets only (without Van road service)

Visitors from all countries with train tickets for journey between the 25th of January 2024 and the 3rd of February 2024 will have the following options if they need to cancel or change their travel date due to the strikes:

2. Voucher equal to the amount paid. This voucher can be used later on any Peruways service
3. Refund of the amount paid for each ticket with a deduction of train service charge (12USD)  ticket

Passengers who are travelling within the dates mentioned above and who want to cancel or modify their train tickets must contact Peruways before the journey date printed on their tickets.

3. Refund of the amount paid for each ticket with a deduction of train service charge (12USD) per train ticket and 8USD per Van service

Passengers who are travelling within the dates mentioned above and who want to cancel or modify their train tickets must contact Peruways before the journey date printed on their tickets.

Bus through other external bus companies (Civa, Inka Express, Cruz del Sur, Oltursa)

There are no cancelations or refunds.

*Deduction of 20USD apply to normal Machu Picchu tickets cost booked on our website peruways.com. Visitors who have booked their tickets using a Premium service in order to book tickets in advance for the following year or to get tickets which are not available on other platforms, will not get refunded the premium service charges of 16USD.

There are no cancelations or refunds for Machu Picchu tickets between the 4th of February 2024 and the 10th of February 2024 . This is because the The Ministry of Culture will not allow cancelations or refunds if the citadel is opened and visitors can go and this is reflected on our terms and conditions.
